BM Kocher, des. AMS Vienna GF Göschl and Caritas Vienna Dir. Schwertner open 12th Job Mile and show perspectives and obstacles for people affected by unemployment
Vienna (OTS) – A few days before April 30, Unemployment Day, a media event will draw attention to the situation of people affected by unemployment. The situation on the Austrian labor market has recently eased considerably. At 6.2 percent, the unemployment rate is currently lower than it has been since 2008. The placement rates in Caritas employment projects are also more positive than they have been for a long time. And many companies are still desperately seeking personnel. At the same time, there are still unemployed people who are not benefiting from this good economic situation. Especially for long-term unemployed people, re-entering the labor market is challenging. The Job Mile is intended to remedy this situation.
After a two-year Corona-related hiatus, the 12th Job Mile will take place on April 25. At this job fair, Caritas and 23 other organizations present concrete job and counseling offers for long-term unemployed women and men.
