Vienna Diversity Award 2024: The finalists have been announced!

The “Vienna Diversity Weeks 2024” are approaching one of their highlights and the tension is rising: The finalists for the “Vienna Diversity Award 2024” have been announced!
39 expert jury members have voted in 4 categories, the award ceremony will take place at 4 locations in Vienna.

The Vienna Diversity Award is one of a total of nine Diversity Alliance initiatives that run throughout the year and cover various dimensions of diversity.
The award is intended to help highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion in society and encourage people to take measures to promote diversity and inclusion themselves.
The award recognizes organizations and individuals who promote diversity and inclusion in Vienna through innovative and sustainable projects and thus set a positive example.
The “Vienna Diversity Award” will be presented in four categories (1st-4th) in 2024. The expert jury is made up of a total of 39 experts from various diversity fields. And these are this year’s finalists:

  1. Inclusion and accessibility
  • ÖBB – You are our potential
  • Deaf – Marien Apotheke Vienna
  • Austrian Society for ME/CFS
  1. Multilingualism:
  • SAG’S MULTI
  • Labor market policy support facility of the advice center for migrants
  • Reading mentors – City of Vienna
  1. Equality for women:
  • Full board Intergenerational cafés
  • Women’s domain – database for female experts
  • The NEIGHbORS
  1. LGBTQIA+:
  • Yavuz Kurtulmus
  • Queer city tour – Vienna City Walk
  • Meeting of the Kuratorium Wiener Pensionist:innen Klub

Award ceremony The prizes will be presented by five prominent personalities at four different locations in Vienna between the end of May and the beginning of June: Alma Zadić, Austrian Federal Minister of Justice, will present the prize in the LGBTQIA+ category.
The prize in the Multilingualism category will be presented by Christoph Wiederkehr, City Councillor for Education, Youth, Integration and Transparency and Deputy Mayor of the City of Vienna. Matti Bunzl, Director of the Wien Museum, presents the prize in the Inclusion and Accessibility category.
The winners in the category Equality for Women are honored by Margit Wolfsberger and Stefanie Steinwendtner, chairwoman and management of the WUK – Werkstätten- und Kulturhaus.
